What Do You Suggest For Irregular Metabolism With Weight Gain When On Microgynon?
My wife has been taking Microgynon ed and ferrous furmarate for several monts now and seems to be, very snappy and cannot stand the kids making noise, shouts dramatically, and seems to be tired although on shifts may upset her metabolism, her stools seem irregular and has been constipated for a while but now seems to be loose several times a week. I am like the white flag wavcer to keep the peace and bite my tounge to not cause unecessary arguments, she complains of weight gain and seems to eat less at home, says does not binge at work for food, and did not have cellulite after third child, only tummy stretch marks, but cellulite on legs and bottom. ?

The symptoms can be due to either, Microgynon itself (causes weight gain and irritability); mental depression or a thyroid problem.
Get her Thyroid Profile done. If it shows under-active thyroid, she will improve with thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
If the test is normal, consult the treating gynecologist and apprise him of my opinion. I am certain that he will agree with me. He may modify the dose or refer her to a Psychiatrist if he feels it as necessary.
