Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a heart murmur that has been screened by my Doc. All is normal. I have been a regular coffee drinker and have consistently consumed alcohol. I have been a firefighter for 15 years. Bodybuilding for 5-7 years. With all this said my heart murmur has never been a nuisance until the last couple of weeks. For the past two weeks my heart will skip a beat as often as 3x s a minute for several hours. Should I be alarmed? Can I wait to follow up with my reg doc vs ER?
Suggest 24 hours Holter (records EKG in a device ,which will be analysed) as out patient for assessment of intensity of problem for appropriate treatment.
