What Does the following MDCT Test Result Mean?
i have done mdct scan of abdomen and pelvis show as follow:-
multiple enlarged nodes in periportal ,mesenteric and retroperitoneal regions as mentioned
the periportal nodes show necrosis.
mild thickening of terminal ileum (7mm) and i c valve.featuers are suggestive of infective etiology- tuberculosis

The report suggest that tere are multiple enlarged lymph nodes in periportal region, mesenteric and retroperitonel.
Lymph nodal enlargement is seen in presence of any infection / inflammation, localised or systemic, malignancies and lymph nodal pathology itself.
There is thickening noted in the terminal ileum - so suspecion of the tuberculosis, as its most common site.
Any thing to ask do not hesitate.
