What Does Bladder Neck Showed Multiple Tiny Polyps Floating Indicate?
42 year old female, diagnosed with urinary retention in 2009. Underwent cystoscopy in July 2009, results stated findings in bladder - An inverted V shaped patch of squamous metaplasia on the trigone, which was dislodged followed by trigonal diathermy. Bladder neck showed multiple tiny polyps floating. Current USG scan shows that full bladder volume as 357ml, Post void scan shows 283ml residual urine. Also a cyst measuring 5.9x4.9cms is seen in right ovary (classified as simple cyst) Left ovary is polycystic. Kindly advice what I need to do as am thoroughly confused. Thnx in advance
Hello and welcome to HCM, Presence of polyps in the bladder neck may be responsible for the urinary retention and residual urine in bladder. Retention of urine can lead to infection of the residual urine. Thus, removal of the polyps in the bladder neck is suggested. Removal of polyps is expected to relieve the retention of urine in bladder. Presence of simple cysts in ovary is a normal finding. In case you are not have menstrual abnormalities or problems of conception, the polycystic ovary on left side is also normal.
