I HAD A MRI DONE ON MY BACK IT SAYS AT BOTTOM OF PAPER PRINTED IN DARK BLACK IMPRESSION ;MILD FACET HYPERTROPHY AT LEVEL L4-L5 LEVEL OTHERWISE UNREMARKABLE STUDY. NO FOCAL DISK HERNIATION, SPINAL CANAL STENOSIS OR NEUROFORAMINAL NARROWING SEEN WHAT DOES THIS MEAN DO I HAVE ALL THIS WRONG WHITH ME?

Facet Hypertrophy is the term used to describe a degeneration and enlargement of the facet joints which are small joints along the back of the spine, are designed to provide support, stability, and flexibility to the spine.

When there is degeneration, the facet joints show hypertrophy with pressure on the adjacent nerves in the spine, which in turn can cause pain to radiate along the path of the nerve
