My wife 28 years had a TB one year back, she had completed Myrin-P treatment for period of 8 months finished in November 2009. She has a cough and congestion since two months and more and she had taken few antibiotics as per family doctor advise which is now going better but not completely fine. She had been advices to conduct few tests and today we have received reports which is as MT PPD Positive 10mm and above and Chest X ray normal and Blood test report say Normocytic, Normochromic marked eosinpphila, cause, clinical correlation is advice...........is TB back?
1.The chest x-ray shows normal with MT 10mm will not confirm the pulmonary tuberculosis it can be due to presence of antibodies. 2.Present symptoms can be due to infective / inflammatory changes. 3.To confirm the sputum examination is definitive for pulmonary tuberculosis. 4.Eosinophilic raised in any infective conditions - not specific for pulmonary tuberculosis. 5.If symptoms persists after completion of antibiotic treatment - get a sputum examination done.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
