I had 2 PPD Tests done. One was negative, the other positive. I had a chest x-ray done.I was only told there was "an increased density" on my x-ray. I will see a doctor to follow up and have the x-ray read more conclusively. What does "increased density" mean?
Increased density means that the area is whiter than normal. In other words there might be increased visibility of bronchovascular markings with or without lung infection or bronchitis. If there was homogeneous opacity mentioned any where then it might be due to fluid collection in the chest cavity which is called pleural effusion.
Mild increase in density usually refers to bronchitis which is inflammation of airways and treated with medications. Protect yourself from extreme temperatures and limit dust exposure.
