I am a 44 year old female with a normal menstral history. I started bleeding 39 days ago, the last 30 days being very heavy with clots. I had an ultrasound last week and was told that the endometrial lining is uneven. I was wondering if the ultrasound elliminated any concerns of endometrial cancer.
Ultrasound is a good tool to screen for endometrial cancer but it can NOT eliminate it. The chance of endometrial cancer increases if you are overweight, have diabetes, high blood pressure or have family history. In most cases of ultrasound appearance of "uneven" endometrium, there is no cancer. But to be on the safe side, please do TVS to see the endometrium in details.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
