What Does A Hard Black And Blue Bruise On Stomach Indicate?
Hello, I'm a 15 year old girl I was recently diagnosed with blood clots to the abdominal cavity multiple and I was in children's hospital for 43 days, I've been out and I'm currently on blood thinners the blood thinnings hot is called fondaparanux it's an adult drug. But recently I have a dark black & blue bruise on my stomach & their is something very hard when I press on it and it hurts I was wondering if you could tell me what this could possibly be?
Hi The drug fondaparinux is anticoagulant used to treat Deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism ,to prevent blood clots.Side effects include thrombocytopenia, bleeding complications, hematoma, purpura etc. So the bruise you got may be due to the drug .You consult your attending doctor He may order some tests like prothrombin time etc and depending on them he may modify the treatment. Hope this answers your query and if you have any further doubts you feel free to ask us
