What Does A Pimple On The Right Nipple Of The Breast Indicate?

I have discovered a pimple with a white head on my right nipple, I am under surveillance with a surgeon as I had breast cancer approximately 19 years ago and am very lumpy in both breasts, nothing has been determined as yet (although the doctor is saying it is scar tissue in the left breast from when I had radiotherapy). I had a partial lumpectomy and radiation on the left breast and am due for more tests in May. Should I get into my breast surgeon or radiologist to get this checked? It has only been noticed this morning when dressing. My name is Marilyn and my email is YYYY@YYYY .

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
Yes. You have to consult the surgeon.
Because it can be a Paget's disease in breast nipple.
Paget's disease is nothing but a Cancer in the skin of the nipple.
As you already had the breast cancer and treated, it may indicate the breast cancer in the underlying breast.
There are some studies saying that cancer cells travel from tumor inside the breast through milk ducts and form cancer in nipple.
It is better to consult immediately with surgeon. He may advice all the tests which you have done early like mammogram, ultrasound breast etc.
He may look for lymph nodes in the axilla.

He may take tissue biopsy and send for pathologic evaluation of the tissue to confirm whether it is a cancer or not.

If the the malignant cells are present, then you have to get remove your breast completely.
As you are at high risk of cancer.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
