What Does Abnomality Of Epithelial Cells With Presence Of Endocervical Cells Mean?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...In July of 2010, I received my first abnormal pap test. The pap results precisely stated Epithelial cell abnormality. Atypical Squamous Cells of Undetermined Significance. Then the specimen adequacy stated Satisfactory for evaluation. Endocervical and/or squamous metaplastic cells (endocervical component) are present. I'm worried about my results. Can you help alleviate some of the stress and tell me the possibilities?
Hi, I m Dr.KUMARBHARGAV Consultant pathologist, I understood your health concern, Regarding atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance means, your PAP test not definite to call it for neoplastic or it might be due to reactive changes. In such cases you need to have colposcopy done for any lesion that should be biopsied. If no abnormality than follow with repeat PAP test at regular interval. So no need to panic, just proceed systematically. If want more details you can ask freely. Thanks for contacting health care magic. Take care.
