What Does Blood In Stool Suggest?

Hi I'm an 18 year old male, and I have a balanced diet and exercise daily. I just realized a day ago that I had some blood within my stool, and there is no pain involved. I have no medical history regarding anything wrong with my stomach or intestines, Colon cancer does not run in the family. There is no blood when I wipe. Can you tell me what it is?
