What Does Clear Apices In An Apicolordotic View Of X Ray Mean?
I had an x-ray (apicolordotic view). The result is ....Both apices are essentially clear. Cardiac shiloutte is distored by the positioning. Visualized osseous structures are intact. The impression is .....CLEAR APICES. What does the result and the impression mean?
an apicolordotic view in chest X-ray is taken to well visualize the top of the lungs. it is done to specifically look for diseases affecting lung apices like tuberculosis, and other respiratory disorders. since the lung apices are clear in your case ,it means no significant pathology involving lung apices. -these days CT chest gives much detailed and superior information. so if your doctor really suspects something, a ct chest can be done. as minor changes may be missed on chest X-ray. thank you and I hope your query is answered.
