What Does Findings Of Radiologist Suggest?

according to radiologist findings, of note would be presence of some mediastinal region lymph nodes preponderant near the proximal left main bronchus and AP window. Several of these nodes or node groupings would be up to8 or 9 mm short axis greatest dimension. No fewer than 6 or so nodes are seen in the mediastinum and with additional calcified nodes obvious near the origin of the right main bronchus and at the carina region. i just had an "FNA" completed on 08/21 she used four separate needles. She said the nodule on my left thyroid was 2.9cm. I am a little concerned with all this. was also diagnosed with sever "COPD" in June of this yr. I am completely fatigued . Lymph node above left collar bone has stayed swollen for several weeks now. Please help me make sense of all this. Thank you.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
The radiological investigations suggest that there are multiple lymph nodes in the nediastinum.
Mediastinal lymph node enlargement can occur due to inflammtpry, tubercilar or neoplastic.
As aspiration cytology of the lymph nodes is required.
Since mediastinal lymph nodes are not palpable.
So, guided aspiration cytology should be practices.
Enlargement of thyroid also needs to be sampled by doing aspitaion cytology.
Enlarged thyroid gland is due due to multinodular goitre, tumor, etc

Consult youir doctor for clinival examination, relevant investigations and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
