What Does Homogenous Echotexture And Increased Echogenity Mean?

Sir,
During normal check up for muscle pain on left side of abdomen on ultrasound, my radiologist mentioned in report as "Liver is prominent in size but normal in shape and has smooth margin. The hepatic parenchyma shows homogenous echotexture and echogenity is increased. IHBRs are normal. No SOL is seen. No pathalogy detectedin porta-hepatis"
Based on this report, I went for LFT & Lipid Profile tests as per recommendation of physician. My blood test reports are as under:
1:- Bilirubin Total 1.15 mg/dl
2:- SGPT = 33 IU
3. Alk Phosphatase = 190 U/LT
4. S Cholestrol = 207 mg/dl
5. TGL = 115 mg/dl
6. Total Lipids= 530 mg/dl
7. LDL= 138 IU
8. HDL = 46 mg/dl
9. VLDL = 23
10. Amylase = 102 S.U

What should I do, as my physician says it is normal and no need to worry except decrease body weight.

Welcome to health care magic.

1.The scan report suggest there is homogeneous hepatic parenchyma - which is normal. With increased echo-texture which is abnormal finding.
2.Increased echo-texture is seen in case if fatty liver, any parenchymal liver disease.
3.This isa seen in the patients who consume more of fatty food, more of alcohol,in a known liver disease patients.
4.Rest of the report parameters are with in the limits - as your doctor suggested.
5.I would recommend to bring changes in the diet - less fat food, more salads, fruits. Avoid junk, spicy, alcohol, fat food with some exercise will help for sure.

Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query,
any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask.
