What Does Hurtle Cells In A Biopsy Report Of Thyroid Indicate?
I have an enlarge thyroid and I had a biopsy and it IS abnormal (HURTLE CELLS). the size is over 2cm but I don t have swallowing issues. because my test came back abnormal and it is enlarge do you think I need to remove it or not (right side) I m 57 YRS OLD
You have not mentioned whether the Thyroid lobe measures 2 cm or you have a nodule in the Thyroid which measures 2 cm. Hurtle cell can occur in chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis or hurthle cell neoplasm. If it is hurthle cell neoplasm, then surgery is required.
