Hi, my boyfriend woke up this morning thinking he might have lice. he s got a very itchy scalp, but when i looked at it, there were orange spots on his scalp, with orange crusty bits in his hair. there were red parts as well but those seemed to only be where he d been itching it raw. there were also small clear flakes. could those be louse eggs?
Your boyfriend has itchy scalp. The scalp has spots on the scalp with crusts and flakes. Your partner is suggested to take care of his scalp hygiene. He should wash his hair with medicated anti lice shampoo twice a day for 3 days. Thereafter he should regularly use Selsun (Selenium sulphide) shampoo to wash his hair.
He is advised to keep his scalp oiled with almond oil for hair nourishment and also to prevent it from drying. He should not touch, scratch or pick it. He should stay well hydrated. His discomfort should go away in a week. If not, he should take a course of fluconazole to control any fungal infection. He should apply clotrimazole cream on the affected area of the scalp. He should stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
