What Does Left Paracentral Shallow Disk Protrusion Mean In The Test Result?
Can you please tell me what the following means? C5-6 left paracentral shallow disk protusion results in ventral contact of the cord without underlying signal abnormality or spinal canal stenosis. There is mild left neural foraminal narrowing. L4-5 minor disk bulge. There is mild-moderate bilateral facet and ligamentum flavum hypertrophy. Central canal is patent. Moderate narrowing of the neural foramina, right great than left, with bilateral nerve root abutment.
it means that you have some mild disc affection that moves a little bit posteriorly without significant spinal cord compression, but you have other side findings may augment the symptoms and add narrowing to spinal canal like the arthritic changes in the vertebral facetal joints and increased thickness of the spinal ligament and these findings can cause symptoms in both sides but more to the right side, so you have to consult your neurologist to assess your neurological state and if you need physiotherapy or medications.
