Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am a 52 year old female.Had a menopause 10 years ago. On no medication. Otherwise healthy but i have had bad itching across my torso for a couple of months, preventing me from sleeping, a low neutrophil count of 1.7 and low serum creatinine. What could this be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Whether the neutrophil count is really low or the total leukocyte count is low. This has to be determined before commenting on the neutrophil count. However, low neutrophil count is seen in cases of infections because infection especially bacterial infections lead to consumption of the neutrophils. Kindly, post the total leukocyte count alo. Itching across the torso can occur due to dry skin or raised bilirubin levels. You need to consult your doctor for clinical assessment and investigations if required.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
