What Does Lumbar Spondylosis With Disc Space Narrowing And Facetal Arthropathy Mean?
the results of my xrays say Lumbar spondylosis with disc space narrowing appreciated at L4/5, L5/S1. There is no spondylolisthesis, lysis or loss of height of the vertebral bodies. Multilevel facetal arthropathy is noted(prominent at L4/5,L5.S1). Effacement of the normal lumbar lordotic curve may reflect lumbar muscle spasm. Lumbar spondylosis with disc space narrowing and facetal arthropathy appreciated at L4/5, L5/S1. could you please explain in plain english, im in constant pain thats all i know. regards Margaret

1. Lumbar spondylosis is a degenerative changes seen after heavy work / age related - appearance of osteophytes, sclerotic margins.
2.Disc space narrowing is seen when the disc looses its hydration - degenerative disc disease.
3.Normal lumbar lordotic curve is lost due to the muscle stiffness - reaction to pain.
4.You need to do back pain exercises and physiotherapy treatment.
5.Fcetal arthropathy - is due to inflammation of the vertebral joints.
