What Does My Ultrasound Report Indicate?

Hi Doctor,

My name is Michele,

I had a pelvic ultrasound today my results are as follows,

The right ovary had a volume of 24 cc demonstrating a dominant follicle measuring 24 x 20 x 19mm in diameter. The left ovary had a volume of 12 cc demonstrating a dominant follicle measuring 23 x 8 mm in diameter.

Comment: There are dominant follicles in each ovary. There are several nabothian cysts in the cervical region but no drfinite myometrial or endometrial abnormality was identified.

Thank you can you please explain this to me

Welcome to health care magic.

1.There are few dominant follicle in both ovaries which can bee seen in any scan just before ovulation and rupture of the dominant follicles.
2.But both the ovaries seems to be bulky and enlarged.
3.Features of polycystic ovarian diseases can be suspected. which needs hormonal treatment.
4.If the test is done as a follicular study - then its very normal and chances of getting pregnancy are there as dominant follicle corresponding to the criteria.
5.Nebothean cyst could be previous cervical infection - only needs a followup.
6.Rest of the scan appears normal. Follow as needed. good luck.

Hope i have answered your query.
