What Does Occasional Loss Of Eyesight, Weak Bones And Bumps On Body Signify?

hi , i am asking on the behalf of my friend , if he should make the effort to see a doctor. He is 18 years of age , healthy (non smoker). He has the symptoms of weakened bones , occasional loss of eyesight in both eyes and sometimes he gets bumps on his skin (they come and go). He describes the feeling as if he is aging quickly . There is no known record of this in his family other than his father who has arthritis in his leg. I am concerned that this may be something serious , if you ave any leads to what this may be , and if it is worth making an appointment at the doctors your opinion is much appreciated.
Thankyou

Hello
I am sorry to know of the difficult situation your friend is going through and he is lucky to have a caring friend
The transient loss of vision and occasional or consistent bone aches with varying intensity(that is what you most likely meant by weak bones) can be easily be attributed towards a few causes none of which would not be qualifying as serious.

So although I may not be able to pinpoint the specific cause for it with out a physical examination or investigations but yes it should actually be a priority to seek medical attention.

The investigations that would most likely be helpful include CBC & ESR, Carotid ultrasound, MRI brain, tonometry and Echocardiography.

Hope this helped you understand the gravity of the situation and the need for getting your friend the much needed medical attention on priority basis

Regards
Dr Ali
