MRI examination of the brain was performed in sagittal, axial and coronal planes utilizing multiple pulse sequences without contrast administration. My MRI report stated: Within the left basal ganglia, there is an ovoid 13 mm T2 hyperintensity most lickly representing VR space vs. lacunar infract. Short interval follow up study is recommended to assure stability of this finding. There is no mass effect. There is no otherwise no abnormal mass, mass effect or edema within the brain parenchyma. There is no acute parenchymal hemorrage or extra-axial collection. The ventricular size and sulcal pattern is consistent with the patients stated age. What does this mean and does this rule out MS? Thanks for your help!
