What Does Pale Skin Loss Of Appetite With Abdominal Pain Suggest?
I have very pale skin, no appetite, small twisting pains in the left side of my abdomen reguarly, sleep for 14+ hrs a day and still feel fatigued, and occasionally wake up with small bruises on my stomach that usually fade throughout the day. I am not sure whether there is cause for concern and to visit a GP but thought I should check online first. Thanks in Advance
Hi. Thanks for your query and an elucidate history. Pale skin indicated that you have severe anemia and be due to a serious problem in the abdomen. Loss of appetite with abdominal pain and excessive sleep yet feeling fatigues indicates that you need a proper clinical examination and investigations. I would suggest in such a patient the following: A detailed history, proper clinical / physical examination and investigations: Blood- complete blood picture, kidney functions tests, blood sugar fasting and post-lunch, Urine- routine, microscopy, culture and sensitivity ( before start of antibiotic) Ultrasonography of abdomen. CT scan and enteroclysis if required. Diagnostic Laparoscopy has a big role to play in undiagnosed cases and can help to diagnose diseases like tuberculosis and so on .
