What Does "1.5 Opacity Possibly A Inflammation" Mean?
My husband just finished tratment of lung cancer in his left lung..he had 1/3 of it removed all gone. He just had a ct. scan 6 months later and it read 1.5 opacity possibly a inflammation but a possible lung nodule canot be excluded. what does this mean is it serious
As I understand your husband had partial lung resection to remove the cancer area. In most cases patients have a weak immune system after cancer treatment. This makes them more vulnerable to infections by bacteria and fungus. Also a second focus of cancer cannot be excluded 6 months after treatment. I suggest you consult the doctor and discuss the possibility of any antibiotic or anti fungal treatment which may show response. Follow up imaging is most important after treatment with antibiotics.
