What Does "bulge Of L3-L4 Disc And Disc Protrusion At L4-L5 Level" On MRI Suggest?

Hi Doctor,

Mentioned below is my MRI report, done a month back. i am a Male, age is 32.

Report says-

"Diffuse posterior and left foraminal bulge of L3-4 disc is seen which indents the left L3 exiting nerve root in the neural foramen without causing compression.

A focal posterocentral disc protrusion is seen at L4-5 level which compresses the thecal sac and the nerve roots within it.

A tiny focal posterocentral bulge of L5-S1 disc is seen without causing any neural compression.

Bilateral L3 spondylolysis without any evidence of listhesis."

I have been adviced physiotherapy for lower back, which i have been regular with, along with application of Myolaxin - D for application.

The pain, bareable, initially used to initiate when I stand for 45 mins and above, and goes down till the middle of my left hip. After a month of exercise, the pain is restricted to the lower back, though not going down till the hip now.

I have also been adviced weight loss, which i am working on.

My queries are-

Do i need to undergo surgery to get rif of this pain?

Do i need to do anything more to reduce this discomfort?

How much time will it take to lead a normal life?

Please advice.
