What Does "spondyloltics Change Is Seen Within The Cervical Spine" Mean?
my fathers age is 77 years and according to his recent MRI report significant spondyloltics change is seen within the cervical spine with curvature abnormality resulting in reversal of the normal cervical curve noted.furthermore there is osteophyte formation that is seen along the vertebral margins at multiple levels with disc degeneration also seen throughout the cervical region.. there are alot more problems noted in the report .. he is not in a condition to have an operation.. what do u suggest?
Reversal of normal curvature of cervical spine occurs in degenerative conditions and when the muscles of neck go in spasm. All the findings mentioned like disc degeneration and osteophytes are various findings seen in degeneration. At first he must avoid excessive physical activities and not carry weights. He may take pain killers and also regularly apply ointments when the pains occur. I suggest you also take him to physiotherapist and let him do simple exercises for some days. Surgery is indicated only in severe cases and is a simple procedure.
