What Does Red, Painful Tonsils With Yellow Puss, Smelly Hard Stones And A Fluid Pocket Indicate?
Hi there, For the past couple months I have had my tonsils full of yellow pus like stuff and hard stones that smell AWFUL. I was told I do not have enlarged tonsils, but very red and painful. My entire throat is red, and I also have a deviated uvula. I have a horrible tie trying to swallow too. I have gotten a few headaches lately but nothing major. I also get sick continuously. I was also looking in my throat today and it looks like I have a fluid pocket on my actual throat. I have no idea whats going on, and I have an ENT appointment in February but I feel like I cant wait. Any thoughts?
Hi, I went through your query. You have had an attack of tonsillitis. it seems to be complicating into a peritonsillar abscess or quinsy. The infection has persisted as it has not been treated. So an abscess has developed. You will need antibiotics certainly. If necessary your surgeon may have to give an incision and drain it. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions I will be happy to help.
