What Does Showed Inferior T Wave Changes And 1st Degree AV Block Indicate?
My husband has recently had an ECG.He has now been referred for an echo test and a treadmill test,as the ECG showed inferior T wave changes and 1st degree AV. block. What does this mean? Do I need to worry? He is 41,is about a stone overweight),has a very strong family history of heart problems and he trains fairly regularly(1-2 times per wk)
Thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. In ECG T wave abnormality indicates ischaemia. And inferior T wave means , inferior leads (II, III and avF) showing T wave abnormality. Inferior leads on ECG represent inferior wall of heart (base of heart). So your husband has problem in inferior wall. AV blocks means (Atrioventricular) block. There are 3 types. Most common is type 1. It is congenital in nature and 90% of the time does not cause any symptoms. It is conduction defect between SA node (atria) and ventricles. So better to get done 2D Echo and coronary angiography to rule out coronary artery obstruction.
