I am a relatively healthy female, 50 years old. I was involved in a car accident about a year ago that resulted in two blown disks in my neck. I have an MRI done recently and the report came back saying white area may reflect microvascular ischemic change. What is microvascular ischemia, what can it indicate or cause it? Thanks
Microvascular ischemia refers to mall infarcts due to the obliteration of the small peripheral vessels that supply the brain and spinal cord. It is seen mostly in cases of unstable blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, autoimmune disorders, etc. Discuss with your doctor for these issues.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
