What Does The MRI Scan Show?

what are the consequesnces of diffusion-weighted MRI scans which are suboptimal. see below. FINDINGS: The diffusion-weighted scans are of suboptimal interpretative quality, due to image distortion of the caudal sections, which encompassed the posterior fossa and a portion of the middle cranial fossa on either side. Allowing for this interpretative restriction, no definite areas of restricted diffusion are identified. There is no abnormal susceptibility. There are no new T1 or T2 signal abnormalities within the brain parenchyma, nor pathological enhancement

Diffusion weighted MRI [DWI] images are compared with imaging sequences called ADC and depending on the comparison radiologists come to know if any restriction of protons i.e. in simple terms abnormality is there in the images or not.
These images may get distorted due to movement at the tim of scan and in this situation it is not possible for a radiologist to comment on those sequences.
The images which a radiologist could interpret in your scan are T1, T2 and contrast sequence images and are normal.
The Diffusion weighted image are ad on to the T1, T2 and contrast images for diagnosing the pathology.
