Hi. My kid had heart surgery to correct D-TGA at 2 months old. He is now 3. Recently a routine echocardiogram revealed mild to moderate pulmonary regurgitation. He has no symptoms, no stenosis or hypertension. What are the chances that this will worsen over time... when he is an adult?
Hi I did review your concern. Pulmonary regurgitation can be due to pulmonary overload due to correction of shunt. I would recommend you to consult your pediatric cardiologist and get it treated with. the ideal management would be medical in terms of reducing volume load on heart if possible so that pulmonary pressure is decreased due to correction of shunt so that it does not worsen with age.
I hope this helps. wish you all the best. thank you for choosing healthcaremagic.
