Yes, my lipid panel came out with low HDL of 35 and LDL of 116..which they say is high. Total cholestral 168. How bad is this and what can I do about it? I eat fairly low fat (only and bit of lean chicken, no dairy), take fish oil, etc.thank you
Report suggests increased LDL level.Cholesterol level is within normal limit.
You need further investigations like complete liver function test,,RBS,ultrasound of abdomen.
In such conditions,I suggest diet and life style changes. If condition persists then tablet atorvastatin 10 mg at night after dinner can be prescribed.
You should avoid red meat and high fat milk products.Avoid alcohol if you take it. You should avoid fried and junk food. You should do exercise and go for walking. Take lot of fibres in your diet.
