What Does The Scan Report Which Shows Uterus/adnexa -HO Hysterectomy Indicate?
Hi Doctor,
I came across a scanning report of 68 year old mother. In that report it has been mentioned
Kidneys:-a Pelvi calyceal system on left side shows a dilatation with calyceal separation of 10mm. Proximal 4cm of ureter dilated.
U.Bladder:- Distended normal wall thickness. No internal echo or calculi
Utres/adnexia:-HO Hystrectomy A lobulated hypoechoic lesion of 72x54mm size seen left lumbar region among bowel loops
No ascites. No para aort/pelvic lymphadenopathy
Impression:- A lobulated hypoechoic lesion left lumbar region among bowel loops with left hydronephrosis and dilated proximal ureter-? Lymph nodal mass lesion-?? Bowel mass
I am very curious to know what does it mean.. Kindly let me explains this result in detail. And let me know the further steps should be taken to cure it.

Welcome to health care magic.
1.The report suggest there is a mass lesion in the left adnexa / lumbar region.
2.The most possible cause i would think of depend on type of hysterectomy ( including ovaries or excluding) if ovaries were left one can think in terms of ovarian / adnexal mass lesions.
3.Other possible causes could be lymph nodal mass lesions or bowel mass as mentioned.
4.Howevere the confirmatory diagnosis will be biopsy. The dilated pelvis and calyx with prominent ureter is due to the distal obstruction / pressure effect causing by the mass lesion.
5.Rest of all scan appears normal. In this case i would recommend to get an biopsy, treated accordingly.
