What Does The Sore, Pea-sized Lump In Breast Signify?
I found a small pea sized lump in my right breast about a week ago the skin around it is red. My breast was very sore but ok now, I did have a discharge coming out of the breast but it has just turned to clear liquid now. I have the implant so don't really have periods.
If a patient presented to me with the above, I'd ask the following: - age - history of breast cancer - You mentioned that you have a discharge coming out of the breast (are you talking of nipple discharge or discharge at the lump site?) - any fevers? - Ever had a mammogram/ ultrasound of breast?
This could be a breast abscess or breast mass (benign or malignant). See a doctor, typically after exam, if the lump is concerning for an infection, then antibiotics should clear it but if it gets worse, an ultrasound will likely be needed with biopsy.
Hope this helps.
