What Is Causing The Infected Lymph Node Under My Jaw?

I have swollen lymph nodes under my jaw and by my ear and a very pronounced lump on my forehead approximately 2 inches long by 1 inch wide. Doctor says it's probably infected lymph nodes and prescribed antibiotics but could it be more serious and what is causing it?

Hello
Enlarged lymph nodes are most often due to infections in the drainage areas. Antibiotics or treatment to the underlying infection would suffice. However if lymph nodes persist even after treatment or if there are multiple nodes, painless enlargement, then it would be a cause of concern.
