To summarize: Left groin pain associated with movements
(negative US for femoral hernia/
testicular torsion & DVT. No
fractures on XR)
If I were seeing you as a patient, I'll like to know the following:
- duration of above symptom
- any fever/chills
- does the pain worsen with urination?
- Are you eating OK? Any n/v, bowel movements, passing gas?
- Have you previously had any abdominal surgeries?
If I were seeing a patient with these symptoms, I'll be concerned for a hernia (could be inguinal or other type),
kidney stone (less likely). I'll perform a detail physical exam to evaluate for a hernia. If I were to find it, then surgery will be offered. If my physical exam is negative, I'll recommend a
CT scan for further evaluation. If you're having fevers, I'll think of some infectious source which I'm less suspicious for, given the information I have.
Hope this helps.
