He is a diabetic for the last 25 years and is on insulin, cholesterol, hypertension drugs in addition to glucophage. Since his first seqizure he was put on eptoin 3 times a day, but he suffered seizures after that too, he is now on eptoing and sodium valporal 300 grams an still suffered a seizure recently, What could be the cause of the seizure and is there anyway it can be stopped? What is the best practical level of HbA1C for a diabetic for 25 years?
Dear madam i can understand your concern.I am very sorry for the condition of your husband. Hba1c also called a glycosylated hemoglobin. In most of diabetic individuals it is good to keep it around 6%. But in some special cases like your husband and elderly people with cardiac problems its advisable to relax the diabetes control. The Best practical level in your husband case will be 8%. Thank you for writing to health care magic Regards Dr vamsi krishna Diabetologist
