What Is The Cause Of Itchiness When On Levofloxacin?
i was diagnosed with pneumonia last night. i was given rxs for levofloxacin 750 mg. and hydrocodone-acetaminophen 5=325 mg.. i have followed doctor orders. i am expereincing itching all over and shaking now. last dose was 1 hour ago (2 tablets before bedtime). what should i do?

Thanks for the query,
You might have developed acute urticaria.
It is an allergic condition.
Drugs are one of the commonest cause for this.
Probably you are allergic to levofloxacin.
Anything including food, cloth, change in climate, pollens etc can cause urticaria.
You need to find out the cause.
Treatment can be with oral anti histamines.
Steroids like prednisolone are also helpful but cannot be used for long.
Please meet a dermatologist for exact diagnosis.
