What Is The Cause Of Itchy, Red Lumps That Recur Despite Taking Antibiotics?

For about 3 years, every winter I come out in uncontrollable itchy red lumps which then turn into scabs from scratching. I have been to the doctors a load of times and they have given me creams and antibiotics and nothing seems to be working, they have said it was scabies but the medication and cream did nothing and its not contagious. What are these lumps?

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this itchy rash. The seasonal nature of this rash is suggestive of an allergic reaction. Scabies would not only manifest in winter and not during other months. This is not just possible. Antibiotic and creams would not be able to bring this condition under control. The best approach to this is to use anti allergy medications like Benadryl/zyrtec, etc. Also, you would need to identify what substance is responsible for this in order to be able to control future recurrences.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Thank you so much for patronizing our services and please do feel free to ask for follow up clarifications and information if need be. I wish you the best of health.
