What Is The Cause Of Less Intake Of Feeds By A 3 Month Old Post Medicines For Cough ?
hi i have a 3 months old girl she got very bad chesty caugh her gp give her augmentin duo 2 times a day i give her the medicine since wensday but she still didn t got better and she eat very small 80-110 ml 6 times a day usually she was drinking 170ml 6 times a day.i want to know if she is fine or i should take her to an emergency in hospital.

the dose of augmentin is three time a day and not twice a day.it is 50mg per kg body weight per day in three divided doses.if she has cold,give nasoclear drops 2 drops thrice a day which will keep her nose open.you can give steam inhalation which gives much quicker relief.if she is not better in three days then please consult a peadiatrician nearby
please note that conditions like asthama can come this way.so if she has cough specially during night,consult doctor for chest auscultation.

Your baby has taken Antibiotics for 6 days, and if she is not getting better, you must take her back to the Doctor. The Doctor has to rule out some Asthma,allergies or other lung diseases.
The low intake of milk is not so much worrisome, if she is not losing her weight. Did you change her type of milk? it seems you are not breast feeding your baby, and your baby is on formula milk, which is not preferable.
I hope that you are aware about vaccine against peumonia, and haemophilus influenza. You must give to your baby these vaccination, once she is better.

First of all I would like to inform you that self medication should be avoided specially in children as it may often worsen the disease progress and in the medicine vial it is clearly written.
Bad cough is indicating obvious chest causes and there are so many causes for cough.It may be upper or lower respiratory tract infection,allergic condition,nasal irritation etc.The chest auscultation(by stethoscope) is must before any medication for cough.So I request you to go to your doctor immediately for the best solution.
