What Is The Cause Of Prolonged Bleeding After Taking Loestrine?

I had a 4 months break from the pill(Femodette) but went back to a different one on the 11th of Dec (Loestrine). The 11th of Dec was the first day of my period and now m bleeding wouldn't stop which is really annoying. I went to see the GP today and he put me on to Mercilon. What's wrong with me? Anna
