What Is The Constant Pain In My Ear That Radiated To Brain?
I had a ruptured eardrum one week ago. I am on anibiotics perscribed by my doctor and the draining has stopped. I am having a piercing pain everyday that goes through my brain and in my ear randomly throughout the day. It feels like a nerve. Is this normal?
The most probable causes are as follows: * Mastoiditis meaning inflammation of the bone behind and connected to the middle ear, compression by the collection causing severe pain * Trigeminal neuralgia * Upper molar problems like caries or impaction * Collection in brain that has spread from the ear
Yes, this is a serious matter. Hence, I would advise you to consult an ENT surgeon urgently. Get CT scan of mastoids and brain to see for any collection. If present then needs higher antibiotics and surgery if not resolving. If these are not present then a second opinion of a neurologist.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
