What Is The Cure For Runny Nose, Sore Throat And Excess Saliva In Mouth?

Hi, I have been sick for about 3 days. Runny nose, sore throat. But its the 3rd day and now my throat is getting to a point where its very painful to swallow. Also when I'm trying to sleep, my mouth fills up with salvia and just pours out leaving me wet or my pillow. I also sometimes have aches. Please help.

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding running nose, sore throat and pain on degulitition resulting in excessive saliva in mouth, and this leads to pooling of saliva in mouth cavity.

Your clinical history indicates that you are having acute upper respiratory tract infection involving nose and throat. To manage it you should do-

1- Culture and sensitivity of throat swab.

2- X-Ray paranasal sinuses.

3- Blood- CBC, ESR, blood sugar (F & PP).

Inferences of above investigations and their co-relation with clinical findings will help in making diagnosis which may be accordingly manage.

Till you are waiting for above formalities you may take-

a- Antibiotic ( preferably broad spectrum)

b- Tab Paracetamol.

c- Warm saline gargling.
