What Is The Difference Between Lasix And Dytor Tablet?

My brother in law aged about 59 years had undergone mitral valve replacement in the year 1990- now again he has been operated for redo of mitral & new arotic value replacement. Both have been replaced by tissue valves. There is a minor problem of fluid accumulation, but slowly he is recovering. Here the surgeon is suggesting Lasix tab - and Physician (cardiology) is suggesting DYTOR tab. can you pl advise which is better and What is the difference between LASIX AND DYTOR TABLETS

Thanks for your query to Healthcaremagic. Both of the drugs work by the same token in reducing fluid retention and are effective as well. In my opinion,preferably choose Dytor(Torsemide) because of its prolonged diuretic action,decreased risk of hypokalemia compared to Lasix(Furosemide). Hope i have answered your query.
