Hi,
Welcome to HRM
This is a good question.
I think, your Doctor has replaced aspirin with Clopidogrel, as combination of Clopidogrel with Metalor XR 25 is better than Aspirin with Metalor XR 25. Metalor XR 25 increases the absorption of Aspirin, and also add its anti-platelet effects. Thus it increases the chances of capillary bleeding, and other occult bleeding. Aspirin in high doses also reduces the Anti-hypertensive effects of Metalor XR, though 75 mg of Aspirin is low dose. Clopidogrel has no interaction with Metalor. Thus this combination is better.
As Clopidogrel is much more expensive than Aspirin, may be yor Doctor can replace metalor with another anti-hypertensive medicine instead of replacing Aspirin with Metalor. But your doctor has to decide, because he knows your complete history, and in certain situation, Metaprol ( beta blocker) is the drug of choice.
