What Is The Healing Period Of An Open TFCC Repair?
hi im 6 ft 230 lbs , i had a open tfcc repair, its been 12 weeks now, still pain, but starting to get better. He repaired tfcc and put two pins that went through pinky side to thumb side, approx 3 inches long to hold wrist in place, i had them in four weeks, now in therapy , just wondering expected time frame to return to work, im a carpenter and hang drywall
Dear sir, TFCC repair is a complicated procedure which is taken up only by hand surgeons. The recovery depends on the grade of injury and the surgery done. The primary surgeon will be the best guy to tell you about the recovery period. In general a repaired TFCC might give little niggles till 6-8 weeks by which most of the lesions heal well provided they were treated appropriately. But as far as the return to work is concerned you will have to undergo a systematic muscle strengthening exercises before you can take up vigorous activities. Hope this answer helped you.
