What Is The Impression From TVS Ultrasound?

I just came back from a TVS ultrasound to try and locate a gestational sac. According to the sonologist, there is a "fundally located cystic anechoic structure resembling a gestational sac measuring 0.56x0.52x0.29 cm with undetermined sonar age. what could this mean?

Hi,
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.
TVS ultrasound is the best way to look for a gestational sac. The structure which is described in the USG report appears to be a gestational sac but I think it must be quite small due to early gestation. After 5-6 weeks from LMP the gestational sac can be seen clearly on TVS. Per abdomen it can be seen around 6-7 weeks. I think you should follow up after 1-2 weeks and it will definitely be clearer. try to get a TVS scan done again as it gives better image.
As the gestational sac is very small on this ultrasound, the machine is unable to calculate the gestational age so the age comes as undetermined.
Hope it sorts your problem.
