I am a 39 yr old mother of 4..Over the past 4 years I have had 3 x laparoscopic surgeries to remove multiple haemorrhagic cysts from my left ovary. Over the past few weeks I started getting the same pain back again so saw my doctor who sent me for an ultrasound. It states : my right ovary measures 2.4 ml and appears grossly normal. Left ovary measures 21.4 ml and demonstrates a complex appearing cyst with peripheral vascularity on colour Doppler measuring 2.9 x 2.2 x 2.7 cm. Comment : Complex left ovarian cyst with peripheral vascilarity? Haemorrahagic cyst. Please help me to understand what all that means. Thanks.
Your ultrasound report shows the presence of a cyst measuring 2.9 x 2.2 x 2.7 cm which might be causing little pain and discomfort. It is also showing some blood flow within and has be categorized as a hemorrhagic cyst. Such cysts of the size mentioned in your report usually respond to medications and resolve in about three months time.
