What Is The Normal Temperature For A 15mth Old Baby ?
What is the normal temperature for a 15mth old ? my son has a cold and a temperature and fluctuates between being himself and then very quiet and sleepy. his last temp ( oral temp as he was sleeping!) was 38.8 degrees centigrade. he has been having calpol but hasnt been himself for last 3days. no rashes , drinking but off food, very snotty with a cough, no diarrhea but plenty of wet nappies!

The normal temperature for a child is 36 to 36.8 degrees centigrade. Fever with cough suggests respiratory tract infections. It can be viral infection which are usually self limiting and does not require active treatment other than symptomatic drugs. In bacterial infections antibiotics will help.

Drink plenty of fluids to help break up your congestion. Drinking water or juice will prevent dehydration and keep your throat moist. You should drink at least 8 to 10 eight-ounce glasses of water daily. Include fluids such as water, sports drinks, herbal teas, fruit drinks, or ginger ale. Your mother's chicken soup might help too!
